  • The homework folder: This folder MUST go home EVERY school night, along with your assignment book. One side of the folder will be designated for work that needs to be done and notices for you to read, and the other side of the folder will be for work that is completed and notes or excuses that need to be handed in to a teacher.

  • The assignment planner: Make sure you write all assignments in your assignment book and for complete them on time.  This assignment book will help all of us keep track of progress and completion of assignments.  Parents, communication should always be open and available to you, so this is a good venue.  You can help by checking the book with your child, and please sign or initial it every day.  Also please check for any notes about missing work and check that your child completes it.  In doing so, you will find that we will have a good communication line and that your child benefits from your involvement and interest in what he or she is doing in school.

  • The Friday Folder: will be used for bringing any completed work or assignment papers home.  Please check and empty old papers with your parents and have them sign the Friday Folder sheet.   Parents, These papers should give you a good idea of how your child is doing in school.  It is part of your child’s homework to hand the empty folder in on the first day of school each week with the sheet signed by you.

ABSENCES:

  • If you were absent, we will gather your work for you and place it in your mailbox.

  • If you are home sick, your parents may call in the morning and request your homework be left in the office at the end of the school day.  This should be picked up before 3:45 pm.

  • Please do not ask for homework in advance of extra vacation.  Even if we give you work, our lessons could easily change while you are gone.  You can read from your free reading book toward your 25 book goal and work on regular daily work like spelling.  We will give you your missed assignments when you return.
